Christmas Paper Garland

December 11, 2017

Christmas Paper Garland

It’s time to get into the spirit of the holiday season. I love to decorate and get the whole family involved in making the whole house feel festive.

This holiday craft is a quick decoration that you and your kids can enjoy making together. I used regular red and green craft yarn to make a garland and pom-pom berries. Holly leaves are made with construction paper. You can make this fun garland in less than an hour.

Directions for Christmas Paper Garland

Take the green yarn and crochet a long chain stitch as long as you would like your garland. If you don’t know how to crochet you can braid three strands of yarn together for a similar effect.

Tie off the ends and trim them.

Next make pom-poms with the red yarn. Take the free end of the yarn and wrap it around your index and middle finger until the yarn looks nice and fat.

Slide the yarn off your fingers and tie it in the center with an additional piece of yarn.

Cut the loops of the pom-pom and trim any pieces that are too long.

Make approximately 9 pom-poms.

To make the paper holly use green construction paper and cut each sheet into four pieces. Fold each sheet in half and then cut a simple holly leaf shape out of the paper. Unfold and voila- a paper holly leaf.

Attach the holly leaves to the green yarn chain with glue. You can also punch a hole in the construction paper and tie them to the green yarn.

Glue a pom-pom or two into the center of each cluster of holly leaves and hang.

Hi, I'm Adrienne. My mission is to help women to tap into their creativity and gain the confidence they need to tackle DIY projects around the home. I want women to realize they don't have to "wait for hubby" to do renovation projects around the home. They can teach themselves how to use power tools and create a home of their dreams on a budget.
