DIY Tutti Frutti Earrings

My husband saw this picture of me wearing my Tutti Frutti Earrings that I posted on Facebook yesterday and said, "Uh those earrings are kinda weird"

Yes, I get it, these fruit earrings are not for everyone and with my purple hair they might just be too much, but I have purple hair so it's obvious I don't really care what people think anyways.

Even if these earrings aren't something that you would wear everyday they are still a great Halloween option if you are dressing up as Carmen Miranda or any other character that requires fruit accessories. Here are the instructions on DIY Tutti Frutti Earrings:

Supplies:

  • Plastic fruit slices from the craft store
  • Earring hooks
  • Tiny eye screws (also from the craft store)
  • Something sharp to poke a hole in the fruit

Begin by poking a hole in the edge of your fruit. I used the sharp end of my wire cutters. Make sure the hole is smaller that the screw otherwise it will fall out.

Next, screw in your eye hook and attach the silver earring wire with needle nose pliers.

These little eye hooks are actually really great for making all sorts of things into jewelry. Anything you can screw a little hook onto, you can attach a chain or some ear wires and make jewelry.

So fun!
