Kitty Themed Birthday Party
My daughter just turned four and last weekend we threw her a kitty themed birthday party. Chloe is going through a kitten obsession phase. Cats are her favorite animal at the moment and she has many stuffed kitties that she loves to play with.
I'm going to share some of the decorating and food ideas from her party. We hosted a fun little shindig for her and her little friends at our house.
I made quick cat wreath for the front door by wrapping crepe paper around a wreath base and taping triangle shaped ears out of felt on top. The whiskers are made from pipe cleaners. I painted little cat paw prints all around the door with washable craft paint. This "black cat" wreath would also be great for Halloween.
We have a full sized bouncy castle that we set up in the yard (not pictured) and a smaller one (above) for the younger kids to play on. We set out some lawn games like ladder ball and corn hole.
I wish I had some better photos of the table-scape. I was rushing around trying to get everything ready before guests arrived and just took a few quick snaps on my phone.
On the food table I set out blue Jello as the kitty's "water dish", Gold fish crackers in a bowl for the "kibble" and little mice made out of strawberries. I cut strawberries in half and pressed almond slices in the top for ears and poked chocolate chips into the strawberry for the eyes and nose. The kids loved these little "mice" and they were very tasty too.
I took a pre-made ice cream cake and added lots of candy and goodies to it to transform it into a "freak cake". The kids loved it!
I decorated plain pink goodie bags with a little cat drawing and filled them with candy and dollar store toys to give to the kids before they left.
I can't believe my little girl is four! Time flies. She had a really fun day and was totally spoiled of course.
