Amazon Prime Day start July 16 at 3pm and there will be amazing deals all day long with everything from electronics, home and garden items, fashion and Amazon services offered at deep discounts. Check out these tips to save the most money on Prime Day this year.
How to Get the Best Deals on Amazon Prime Day
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you will know that Amazon Prime Day is coming up.
Amazon has essentially created their own holiday. It’s like Cyber Monday (where the best online deals can be found 3 days after Black Friday) but in July.
This year Prime Day starts at 3pm EST on July 16th and lasts 36 hours.
In order to take advantage of Prime Day you need to have an Amazon Prime membership. This member ship costs $12 per month or $119 once per year.
My family has had a Prime membership since it first became available almost 10 years ago and we definitely take advantage of it. I love being able to quickly look up something that I need on the Amazon app, order it with one click and have it delivered two days later.
Amazon Prime deals have been hit or miss in the past. Some critics have described the deals as nothing more than what you would find in the clearance bin at TJ MAXX. But there are some amazing deals to be found if you know the right strategies.
Y’all know I love a good bargain. I almost make a game out of trying to get the best deal on products that I need, like that time I saved $1400 on my refrigerator.
Here are some of my best tips to make the most out of Amazon Prime Day:
The following are affiliate links. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. Thank you for being part of Crafty Little Gnome
Use the free Amazon Prime Trial Membership
If you don’t have a Prime Membership, you can’t take advantage of the deals. If you don’t want to commit to a yearly member ship you can get the Prime trial, use it for the deals and if you don’t like it you can cancel it before the 30 days is up.
Download the App
Prime members are offered a sneak peek at many of the Prime Day deals as well as shopping guides during the event. Download the app on your phone for quick and easy access to all the deals and notifications.
Most of the Prime Deals won’t be released until Prime Day officially starts. Avoid getting caught up in the excitement of all the great deals by making a list of things you need or are thinking about purchasing if the price is right. Don’t be impulsive. There is nothing worse than buying something because it is “such a good deal” and then having it collect dust in your closet and then feeling terrible every time you stumble upon it when you’re cleaning.
There are also pre-Prime Day deals that have already launched, as well as a number of offers for the big day that Amazon has released to members. Prime Day is usually the best time to purchase Amazon-branded products like the Echo, Kindle, and Fire TV.
There are deals at Whole Foods too
Prime Day isn’t limited to just Amazon either, there will be Prime deals at Whole Foods which is owned by Amazon. There are a number of offers and markdowns for Prime members who shop at Whole Foods during “Prime Week,” one of the best deals is that Prime members who spend $10 at the grocery chain between July 14 and the end of Prime Day will get a $10 credit to spend on Amazon.com. Prime members who have not tried Whole Foods’ delivery service will get $10 off their orders, plus $10 to use on a future order if they shop before the end of Prime Day.
Amazon Prime Rewards Visa cardholders get double rewards
Amazon Prime Rewards Visa cardholders will receive double their normal rewards, getting 10% back on purchases up to $400 from July 14 through July 17. My husband has had the credit card for years and always gets cash back and point towards purchases.
Keep an Eye on the Competition
Other retailers will be trying to compete with Prime Day so make sure you check out Ebay, Target, Walmart and Best Buy to see what kind of deals they are offering. They will likely be holding sales with some great bargains.
