Amazon Prime Day starts July 15 at midnight and there will be amazing deals through Tuesday July 16th with everything from electronics, home and garden items, fashion and Amazon services offered at deep discounts. Check out these tips to save the most money on Prime Day this year.
How to Get the Best Deals on Amazon Prime Day
Hey Gnomies,
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you will know that Amazon Prime Day is coming up.
Amazon has essentially created their own holiday. It’s like Cyber Monday (where the best online deals can be found 3 days after Black Friday) but in July.
Amazon Prime Day 2019: Cheat Sheet
Prime Day deals are exclusively for Prime members:
- Prime Day deals will begin at 2:59am ET on Monday, July 15.
- Prime Day 2019 will last 48 hours.
- The best items to buy on Prime Day are Amazon devices.
- Also Expect to see great deals on TVs, Apple gear, and smart home devices.
- Expect counter sales from Amazon rivals like Walmart, Best Buy, and Target
In order to take advantage of Prime Day you need to have an Amazon Prime membership. This member ship costs $13 per month or $119 once per year.
My family has had a Prime membership since it first became available almost 10 years ago and we definitely take advantage of it. I love being able to quickly look up something that I need on the Amazon app, order it with one click and have it delivered two days later.
Amazon Prime deals have been hit or miss in the past. Some critics have described the deals as nothing more than what you would find in the clearance bin at TJ MAXX. But there are some amazing deals to be found if you know the right strategies.
This year Amazon is going all out. They are planning a Prime Day concert featuring Taylor Swift and other pop starts on July 10th exclusively for prime members (shhhh... don't tell my daughter).
If that wasn't enough they are also hosting a Prime Day gaming event with celebrities competing in gaming tournaments on July 11th, 12th and 13th (shhhh...don't tell my husband).
Here are some of my best tips to make the most out of Amazon Prime Day:
The following are affiliate links. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. Thank you for being part of Crafty Little Gnome
Use the free Amazon Prime Trial Membership
If you don’t have a Prime Membership, you can’t take advantage of the deals. If you don’t want to commit to a yearly member ship you can get the Prime trial, use it for the deals and if you don’t like it you can cancel it before the 30 days is up.
Download the App
Prime members are offered a sneak peek at many of the Prime Day deals as well as shopping guides during the event. Download the app on your phone for quick and easy access to all the deals and notifications. Get a $10 credit when you log into the app for the first time and another $10 credit after your first in app purchase.
Plan Ahead for Amazon Prime Day
Most of the Prime Deals won’t be released until Prime Day officially starts. Avoid getting caught up in the excitement of all the great deals by making a list of things you need or are thinking about purchasing if the price is right.
Don’t be impulsive. There is nothing worse than buying something because it is “such a good deal” and then having it collect dust in your closet and then feeling terrible every time you stumble upon it when you’re cleaning.
There is a "Watch this item" button that you can click on items you are browsing a week before Prime Day starts on the app so you can keep track of the things already on your shopping list.
There are also pre-Prime Day deals that have already launched, as well as a number of offers for the big day that Amazon has released to members. Prime Day is usually the best time to purchase Amazon-branded products like the Echo, Kindle, and Fire TV.
Install Amazon Assistant
Install Amazon Assistant to receive notifications on deal's you're watching- and get $10 off your next purchase of $50 or more.
There are deals at Whole Foods too
Prime Day isn’t limited to just Amazon either, there will be Prime deals at Whole Foods which is owned by Amazon. There are a number of offers and markdowns for Prime members who shop at Whole Foods during “Prime Week," one of the best deals is that Prime members who spend $10 at the grocery chain between July 3rd and the end of Prime Day will get a $10 credit to spend on Amazon.com.
$10 Rewards on Gift Cards
Earn a $10 bonus when you reload $100 or more to your Amazon Gift Card balance for the first time.
Keep an Eye on the Competition
Other retailers will be trying to compete with Prime Day so make sure you check out Ebay, Target, Walmart and Best Buy to see what kind of deals they are offering. They will likely be holding sales with some great bargains.

Hi I’m Adrienne Carrie Hubbard. I believe a rich life comes not from the things you have, but the things you do; the experiences you create and the people you meet along the way. Thanks for hanging out!

It's a Google Chrome extension. Try it on a laptop or desktop computer. If you click the link it will open a new tap and then it will ask you to click and install it on your web browser.
