Supplies for Pink Grapefruit Smoothie:
- 1 large grapefruit
- 1 cup of orange juice
- 1 cup of frozen strawberries
- 1 banana
- blender
My favorite blender to use for smoothies is my Ninja Blender. It's easy to use as well as clean. We have had this model for years and it's still going strong.
Instructions for Pink Grapefruit Smoothie
Measure all your ingredients and dump them in the blender. Blend until smooth and pour it into a 16 oz cup. It's that easy!
Grapefruit pairs well with banana, basil, black pepper, caramel, coconut, ginger, lemon, lime, melon, mint, papaya, pineapple, pomegranate, raspberry, rosemary, strawberry, thyme, tropical fruits, and vanilla.
Grapefruit Can Help You Detox Your Body. Grapefruit is full of healthy juice – Grapefruits and other citrus fruits like oranges and tangerines are the ideal food for a detox diet. The sugars in the fruit juice are all natural and are easy for your body to break down for fuel.
Freeze grapefruit sections in a single layer on parchment paper. Frozen grapefruit can be eaten right out of the freezer, tossed in water for a fruit ice cube, used in smoothies, or thawed and eaten later
While the pith of grapefruit can have more of a bitter taste than say, oranges, it's worth eating along with the fruit. Fiber is a good thing, and can help lower blood sugar, cholesterol, and possibly even colon cancer risk
Pink Grapefruit Smoothie
Ingredients
- Pink or Ruby Red grapefruit
- 1 banana
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- ½ cup orange juice
Instructions
-
Toss the ingredients into a blender ( I like the Ninja brand ) and blend until smooth.

You may find a whole grapefruit is too sour for your taste buds so add half first and do a taste test to see if it needs more. This grapefruit smoothie tastes best cold so make sure the strawberries are frozen and the OJ is chilled
Recipe Notes
This smoothie is very refreshing, it's great on a hot humid summer morning.
Keep in mind that grapefruit can interfere with certain medications and you may want to talk to your doctor before eating grapefruit on a regular basis.

Add a handful of spinach and you won't taste it, but you will get your greens right at the start of the day. I like the grapefruit idea, I haven't done that before. Great idea!

Absolutely delicious!! This might just be my new favorite smoothie recipe. I sectioned the grapefruit and removed all the white bits, did a whole banana, and a little less than a cup of frozen strawberries. Didn't have the OJ, but it was delicious without it. Thank's for sharing this recipe!
