DIY Harry Potter Wand
Our family really loves Harry Potter. Last summer we started reading the book series to my daughter. She loves the novels but we stopped at book 5 because they start to get a bit scary as the series goes on. I have continued on my own and am almost done book 6. If you have only watched the movies I would definitely recommend reading the series. They are so much better than the films.
Today we are making homemade DIY Harry Potter Wands. They can be used as any kind of witch or wizard wand- not just Harry Potter.
Kids will love to make these for Halloween or for play time. Plus, you can get them outdoors foraging for sticks to use to make their wands.

Notes
When picking sticks, don’t choose anything too perfect! The knobs and imperfections are perfect for giving these witch and wizard wands a rustic feel.
But sure to choose sticks with tight bark. This will ensure your creation doesn’t flake apart.
Use the hot glue to sculpt your want into new shapes! When you pile up many layers, you can make jewels look deep set or make certain areas wider.
