DIY FELT CHRISTMAS TREE TUTORIAL

I've been wanting to make a felt Christmas tree for a few years now. I saw one on Pinterest a long time ago and thought my daughter, Chloe would really enjoy playing with it.

DIY FELT CHRISTMAS TREE TUTORIAL

If your child is old enough to operate sharp scissors then they can help you make this felt Christmas tree and play with it after it's done.

SUPPLIES FOR FELT CHRISTMAS TREE AND ORNAMENTS

- ½ yard green felt  - Additional squares of felt in assorted colors  - Scissors

- Chalk  - Glue gun  - Command strips  - Glue dots

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FELT CHRISTMAS TREE

- Begin by folding your felt in half.  - Take your chalk and draw half of the tree on one side of the fabric.  - Next, use your scissors and cut out the chalk tree.

Unfold the fabric and you will have a tree shape. Then, it's time to make the felt Christmas tree ornaments. Cut shapes out of the smaller felt pieces.

- Cut shapes like circles, candy canes, stars and diamonds.  - Use the fabric scraps to make smaller felt shapes.

HOW TO HANG THE FELT TREE AND ORNAMENTS ON THE WALL

I used Command Strips to attach the tree to the wall. Use a hot glue gun to glue one side of the command strip to the tree at the top point and the bottom sides.

HOW TO HANG THE FELT TREE AND ORNAMENTS ON THE WALL

Pull the adhesive off the other side of the command strip and press the tree firmly onto the wall.
