My grandma Audrey used to make it and gave the recipe to my mom (her daughter in law). My mom started making the sauce and it has been such a hit at family gatherings that other friends and relatives started asking for the recipe.
This year I decided to make the honey mustard sauce to bring to the Easter feast we had with my husband's side of the family. The taste is sweet and spicy.
There is only one ingredient in this recipe that I didn't already have: powdered mustard. I found it in the ketchup and mustard aisle of the grocery store.
The cornstarch is what makes the sauce thick, so don't skip it. You only need one teaspoon though. Mix all the ingredients in a heavy saucepan on medium heat.
Whisk the eggs in so that they are fully blended and continue stirring slowly as the sauce thickens. Once the sauce is thick, it's ready. Transfer to a serving bowl and set it out for guests.
