Shamrock Shake-St. Patrick’s Day Milkshake Recipe

March 14, 2017

Shamrock Shake

Shamrock Shake

Today’s recipe is something special for those of us who like sweets.

It’s the biggest, craziest, milkshake I could come up with and because of St. Patrick’s Day coming up on Friday, I made it St. Patrick’s day themed by adding green ice cream and rainbow sprinkles (because that’s all you need to make something St.Patrick’s Day themed right?)

Shamrock shake

Have you heard of a “Freakshake” before? They are becoming a new trend. Basically you take a milkshake and give it steroids. If you want to see some amazing and crazy milkshakes do a search on Pinterest for “Freakshake”. People are coming up with the wildest milkshake varieties that you can imagine.

For this recipe, I used my husband’s beer stein because it was the biggest glass in the house and added all the yummy stuff to it that I could think up.

This Shamrock shake is so sweet I recommend sharing it with a friend. There is no way I could eat this giant thing by myself so I let my three year old have some and it was too much for her too, haha.

Oh, and to anyone who knows me in real life- you are not allowed to let me complain about how I can’t lose the 15 pounds I gained over the past year and a half when I’m making treats like this!

I channeled my inner Food Network star and made this video below

Gnome Tip: Use plastic chopsticks to secure your mini donuts and pierce mini snickers bars into the top of them to hide the chopstick.

My milkshake brings all the leprechauns to the yard, and I’m like, it’s better than yours (sorry, I couldn’t resist)

Would you try this Shamrock shake? What are your plans for St. Patrick’s Day this year? Tell me about it in the comments! (full printable recipe below)
