New Year’s Eve Party Champagne Bar Inspiration
Hey Gnomies,
How was your Christmas? I’d like to say this year we had an amazing Christmas but unfortunately my four year old woke up at 4 am on Christmas morning with the stomach flu. My poor girl was sick all day. Luckily it only lasted 24 hours and she is back to her old self again but it was kind of a rough day for everyone in the family.
Now that we are past Christmas it’s time to start looking forward to 2018. The start of the new year always has me feeling motivated and inspired by the possibilities of the year ahead. Today I am sharing some fun party ideas and a champagne bar set up to help you bring in the new year.
Jello shots are always a party favorite. Make these champagne Jello shots by mixing one 3oz box of pineapple flavored Jello with one cup of boiling water. Once the powdered Jello has completely dissolved add 2 cups of chilled champagne. Pour into 2oz plastic cups. Let chill overnight. Sprinkle the shots with cupcake sprinkles. Makes 12 shots.
I created the two framed prints above with Pic Monkey photo editing software. You can download them for here for free.
In addition to the pink Moscato champagne and white champagne, I also purchased a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling apple-peach juice for my daughter. If you have kids at your party they will love to feel included in the fun with a fizzy non-alcoholic drink. Just make sure the bottles are clearly labelled so they don’t get mixed up!
Have you heard of the 12 grapes of luck New Year’s tradition? It originates from Spain and the idea is that you spear 12 grapes onto a skewer, one grape for each month of the year. Guests eat the grapes one by one. Every sweet tasting grape will bring a lucky month and every sour tasting grape will bring a month with more challenges.
Hershey “midnight” Kisses are served in a bowl and placed on a dollar store gold wreath.
This champagne cocktail is a twist on a classic Bellini. Place a scoop of mango sorbet into a glass and pour white champagne over it. Add a dash of cherry syrup and garnish with fresh raspberries.
I created the “2018” and “Cheers” banners as well as the gold circles taped to the walls from a gold gift bag from Dollar Tree. I traced the letters and numbers onto the paper and cut them out. I cut the circles out to the left over scraps. Super cheap and easy.
This cocktail was made by mixing one ounce of pink lemonade, one ounce of Triple Sec and one ounce of pink Moscato champagne. Drop in a maraschino cherry and garnish it with two more.
Grapes and fresh fruit are great to serve at a champagne bar as garnishes and snacks. Freeze grapes ahead of time and use them in lieu of ice cubes in your cocktails.
