Mini Guest Bathroom Remodel
It’s been a while since I updated my guest bathroom. We have two bathrooms in our house; one in the master bedroom and one off the main hallway that guests use. The guest bathroom is also my daughter’s main bathroom. Several years back I updated it from ugly 80’s style to a fun raindrop bathroom. You can check out that transformation here. I recently decided it was time to refresh the style and décor of this bathroom to get ready for the holidays. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up soon you will likely have guests coming over on a regular basis, so it’s a good time to freshen things up to get ready for company.
Since we live in the Pacific NorthWest wet, we have the same rainy weather forecast every single day of the year except for three weeks in August when we have a drought.
Partly cloudy with a chance of showers.
Seriously. Every. Single. Day.
Now, when I painted this bathroom the first time I was struck with raindrop inspiration but I didn’t think about the fact that it is almost always raining outside and you know what seemed like a good idea? Painting a bunch of raindrops on the walls so we can pretend that it’s also raining inside of the house! Pure genius I tell ya!
Since my daughter is three and this is her main bathroom I knew she would be upset if I painted over the raindrops so I decided to have a little fun and bring in some more playful elements with some rainbow colors, new art and accessories. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean we can’t bring some sunshine in right? Our guests and their little ones are going to love our cute little guest bathroom this holiday season.
Because some of my raindrops were a little bit wonky I repainted some of them and made some bigger to add perspective and make them look closer.
Let’s take a look around my bathroom and I will show you the updates I made and the projects I completed in just three days.
I purchased most of the supplies and new decor items from Target. While I was there I picked up a package of Quilted Northern Ultra Plush® Mega Rolls. They are available in the bath tissue aisle along with Quilted Northern Ultra Soft and Strong® Mega Rolls.
Your house will be full of guests this holiday season which means a lot more people using your bathroom. Quilted Northern Mega Rolls are four rolls in one so they last and last, which means you will have to change the roll less during this busy time of the year. You won’t have to worry about your guests experiencing a bath tissue run out. Make sure the bath tissue roll is full with Quilted Northern Ultra Soft and Strong Mega Rolls and forget about refilling the roll for longer.
Let’s check out the changes I made to my guest bathroom. Drum roll please…
I started by painting the white cabinet gray and I swapped the handles and added new hinges to the the doors.
I added an over the toilet shelving unit for more storage and styled it with towels, baskets and plants. The ice cream cone cookie jar can hold small items like hair ties or bubble bath.
I picked up this new clock so our guests can always keep track of time and the little squirrel cookie jar holds more small items like dental floss.
A new shower curtain is an easy way to update your bathroom on a small budget.
Another easy way to update your space that packs a big impact is swapping your doorknobs. These doorknobs and the back plates were inexpensive and will make any room look more classy. I also painted the back of the door gray to match the cabinet.
