How to Create Your Coziest Bedroom Ever this Winter

November 15, 2019

cozy bedroom

This post is sponsored by Kohl’s, but all opinions are entirely my own.

Hey Gnomies,

The weather is starting to get chilly and that means I’m just about ready to go into hibernation mode for the winter.

One of my favorite things to do during the cooler months is get snuggled up in bed with a hot cup of tea and my favorite book.

This time of the year is a great time to do a mini bedroom make-over and create your coziest bedroom ever. Here are some of my best tips to make your bedroom a relaxing place you’ll never want to leave.

Try a Flannel Duvet and Sheet Set

I recently had the opportunity to check out the new Cuddl Duds sheet sets and bedding sets at Kohls. I snapped up a new plaid Cuddl Duds duvet cover and sham set for my bedroom.

I am so impressed by the quality and softness of the bedding. It doesn’t feel too thick but it has been keeping me extra warm at night.

Changing out your sheets and duvet is an easy way to update the look of your room as the seasons change. When spring arrives again I will switch back to my white ruched duvet cover, but for fall and winter this gorgeous red plaid is just what I need to stay cozy.

Add Twinkle Lights

The soft glow of string lights in the bedroom immediately emits a feeling of coziness. I put up these Edison bulb lights over my bed across the wall and they are the perfect amount of light needed to read and relax in bed.

White lights are classic but why not get festive with colored Christmas twinkle lights or a strand of string lights in your favorite color to set the mood?

Holiday Florals

Is there any flower more synonymous with the holiday season than the poinsettia? Even if you can’t have real flowers in your bedroom because of allergies you can still decorate with faux ones. Some of the fake flowers for sale these days are so convincing you would never even know they were fake. Bringing in elements from nature always helps to create a relaxing bedroom.

Flowers in the bedroom always look good. If you don’t want to do a huge bouquet a few buds in a small glass vase will do the trick.

Scented Candles

Candles always help add to the ambiance of any room. Who doesn’t look great in candle light? Pick up some fresh candles in holiday scents like peppermint, cinnamon or pine. You can light them while you read or just enjoy the scent of them unlit at your bedside.

Decorate With Your Favorite Books

Keep your favorite novels at your bedside to encourage reading before bed. Not only is it is practical but books stacked nicely at your bedside look great.

This time of the year when the days keep getting shorter is the perfect time to start a new book. Keep a few you’ve been meaning to read close by for easy access.

What are your best tips for creating a cozy winter bedroom? Let me know in the comments and make sure you check out the Cuddl Duds collection on your next trip to Kohls.
