Holiday Tabletop Swag
Happy Holiday Gnomies,
When you think of the word “Swag” many things come to mind. Swag can mean free stuff, it can mean “swagger” and it can also mean a holiday decoration made with evergreens and ribbon. Today we are making the latter, a fun table decoration made with a faux evergreen garland and adorned with real tree branches and pine cones.
I love to decorate for the seasons and I have fun getting into the holiday spirit with my family. I have to admit I have had the holiday decorations out of storage since October and we have been slowly decorating the house one little decoration at a time. Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's on!
Today I am going to show you how to make a holiday table decoration using a pre-,made faux evergreen garland that I adorned with real greenery and pine cones.

This project is great for your holiday tablescape and smells lovely. If you don’t want to place it on your table you can also hang it up or twist it around your porch poles.
When you are getting ready for guests and planning your holiday meals don’t forget to stock up on Kikkoman® Soy Sauce and Kikkoman® Panko Bread Crumbs (you can find it in the breading aisle at Walmart). Kikkoman® isn't just for Asian sauces and marinades it's versatile and perfect for incredible holiday recipes.
My family loves adding soy sauce to most of our dinner recipes. Kikkoman’s® Traditionally Brewed Soy Sauce is a delicious flavor enhancer and brings out the “umami” taste, and also helps balance and round out flavors. so we like to add it to all of our favorite dishes.

Supplies:
- 1 9ft faux evergreen garland
- Selection of real evergreen branches (I collected mine from my yard where we have lots of trees. Recent windy weather has scattered many branches on the ground. If you don’t have any trees near you try collecting some fallen branches from a local park.
- Floral wire
- Optional -pine cones and ornaments.
- Floral glue
You can get long evergreen garlands from the holiday section at Walmart. By adding real evergreen pieces you can make it look fuller and more expensive.

Start at one end and twist the end of the floral wire to the garland. Then, take pieces of the evergreens and wrap the wire around it, attaching it to the fake bough. Work your way down the garland placing the evergreen pieces strategically to hide the wire. Cut the wire at the end and twist it around the garland to secure it.
You can tuck more pieces of evergreen into the wires. I also used some pieces of boxwood I had trimmed and tucked them under the wires as well.
If you want to add pine cones to the swag the easiest way is to glue them! Apply floral glue to the pine cones and stick them into place.
