Clever Ways To Capture Memories At Your Wedding

How to To Capture Memories At Your Wedding

Your wedding is supposed to be one of the most memorable nights of your life, but for many brides and grooms, the ceremony and reception are a blur – a whirlwind of laughter, love, and dancing the night away!

If you’re worried you might miss out on some of the details of the evening, find some fun ways to capture the night’s memories so you’ll have something to hold onto forever.

While you can go the traditional route and hire a wedding photographer to snap some shots of your group, here are some fun, interesting ways you can try to capture memories at your wedding:

Use your guest book to your advantage!

A nice book filled with your wedding attendees’ well-wishes can be a wonderful memento to have, but you can find much more meaningful ways to let your guests share a piece of advice or favorite memory with you on your big day.

Set up a typewriter and allow your guests to compose a slightly longer message than usual to leave behind, or ask folks to bring in a photo of you with a funny or sweet memory written on the back.

Don’t skip the videographer.

If you’re worried you won’t remember all the details of your wedding, you may want to hire someone to film the entire affair. Videographers can be a little pricey, but you can’t put a dollar amount on keeping these memories around forever.

A professionally filmed and edited wedding video, if done well, can take the place of lots of other trinkets and things you’d otherwise hold onto. A true videographer can be a pretty big splurge, so if you’re celebrating on a budget, ask guests to record video clips with their cell phones and set up an inbox (or use an app) to collect them.

Incorporate some cameras.

Nearly everyone has a camera built into their cell phone, but the best pictures can still come from traditional methods. Pick up some disposable cameras or find a way to get your hands on a few Polaroids and scatter them around your wedding reception. Leave a few on tables, at the bar, and in other places where folks will find them with a sign inviting people to pick them up and snap a few photos to help you remember the evening. You’ll be surprised – and likely entertained – by what you’ll find. Plus, it adds back the mystery of waiting to find out what the photos look like!

Create a memory box for your special day.

A memory box can be the perfect way to memorialize your wedding day. Why? You aren’t just limited to photos. Instead, you can include anything you’d like to hang onto to commemorate your big day. Hold onto the wine cork from your first bottle as a married couple, your cake topper, a flower from your wedding bouquet – anything you’ll want to revisit later!

It’s important to consider the ways you’ll want to remember your wedding celebration after it’s over. Whether you’d rather collect photos and tokens to remember your special day, film the events, or opt for some combination of the two, you’ll be grateful down the road that you’ve preserved one of the most important days of your life so well.
