Berry Mozza Cheese Bites for your next summer shindig.

Hey Gnomies,

The weather is getting warmer and it’s almost time for outdoor summer entertaining.

During the summer, I like to serve lighter dishes and drinks to my guests. I often opt for recipes with lots of fruits and veggies and refreshing drinks like chilled beer and wine or sparkling cider.

Today I’m sharing a recipe for Berry Mozza Cheese Bites. It’s a great light appetizer to serve at your parties this summer. Strawberries and blueberries are served with mozzarella cheese cubes and fresh basil leaves for a sweet take on traditional caprese salad.

I placed the berries, cheese and basil on bamboo skewers and served them with Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzer; it’s an adult drink from Smirnoff, the world’s #1 selling vodka.

I picked up a variety pack of Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzers on a recent shopping trip. They are a tasty blend of crisp, refreshing taste and bubbly carbonation. There are only 90 calories per 12 oz* can and zero sugar. It’s an ideal drink for any occasion this summer.

Strawberries and blueberries are two of my favorite summer fruits. I grow them every year in my garden.

I have a section of my garden reserved for herbs and every year I grow an abundance of basil.

I wouldn’t normally think to combine fruit with basil leaves in a recipe, but the sweet flavor in the berries pairs well with the spiciness of the basil. Mozzarella cheese acts as a neutral flavor and ties it all together.
