Most of my friends outside to the blogging world (and some that are in it too) don’t really know what I do for a living. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t really talk about myself a lot, at least in real life- My blog is all about me, muhahaha. All kidding aside, you may know that I’m jewelry artist, blogger, Youtuber and a business coach for creative entrepreneurs.
I’m also a wife, mom, and mom to my furbabies.
Phew! I’m tired just thinking about it all.
Suffice to say my day is very busy and between the stuff I have going on for my business and everything else going on with my family- we are always on the go. And I almost always roll my eyes when someone asks. “What do you do all day?” My friend, you have no idea.
Here’s what a typical day in my life looks like:
The alarm goes off at 7:15 and by 7:30 I finally drag myself out of bed and curse the fact that school starts way too early for kids. I go and wake up my daughter, Chloe.
After pleading with her to get out of bed and trying to force her to put clothes on and eat something for breakfast we head out to the bus stop at the end of the driveway and she’s off on the bus at 8.
After she’s gone for the day I say bye to my husband who’s off to work and then I either head to the gym for a quick workout or back home to start my day.
After I’m done my second cup of coffee and my email is checked. I feed the pets and then I’m back on my computer for most of the day. Depending on what needs to be done I could be making and packing jewelry, working on a blog post, creating and editing videos for Youtube or working on a DIY project.
After a quick lunch I usually have an errand or two to run. It seems like one of my pets is always at the vet, I need to go to the post office or I need to make an emergency run to the craft store for supplies.
I love to munch on snacks throughout the day. A new favorite of mine is Boulder Canyon. They are celebrating their 25th anniversary and inviting us all to Follow Our Path with them. The packaging on the front of the chips has recently changed and is inspired by their heritage in the Flatirons, but they still have the same great tasting chips inside the bag. I like that they use simple ingredients and unique oils in their potato chips like coconut and avocado.
Some days I have time to take the dogs for a quick walk around the farm. Then it’s back to work for a few more hours and I try to squeeze in any chores that I can like laundry, cleaning the kitchen and picking up around the house.
At 4 it’s time to meet Chloe at the bus stop and come home for an afternoon snack and some relaxation time. I will usually start getting dinner prepped.
She has an activity almost every day around 5 pm. Dance class and martial arts are twice a week and we also have Girl Scouts once per week.
That means I’m back in the car and headed into town again.
While she’s doing her activities I either catch up on work on my laptop, go for a walk around town or just relax and work on a crochet project while I’m waiting.
Once we are back home we have supper and sometimes watch a bit of TV and do reading homework. I use this time to tidy the house or collapse on the couch for a few minutes.
Then it’s time to get ready for bed and read stories. Chloe is usually asleep by 8:30 and my husband is hopefully home from work by then. He usually works 50-60 hours per week. He’s a package delivery driver and is on the road all day. I like to sneak a bag of Boulder Canyon chips in his bag for him to snack on when he doesn’t have time to take a real break. His favorite flavor is Buffalo Ranch.
Hubby and I watch TV for a bit together and sometimes I do a bit more work on my phone or laptop while we are watching shows in the evening.
Then it’s off to sleep at 11pm and if I’m lucky I will sleep through most of the night without being woken up too many times.
And the next day we get to do it all over again!
Where does your daily path lead you? Tell me about it in the comments and don’t forget to pick up a bag of Boulder Canyon with the new packaging on your next shopping trip.
