Recycled Bottle Easter Basket
Some of the best crafts I come up with use recycled products. It’s always fun to come up with new and interesting uses for things you might otherwise discard.
For today’s craft I am making an Easter basket out of a recycled 2 liter plastic soft drink bottle. The bottle is cut into the shape of a bunny. The ears are on top and the base of the bottle ends up looking like little bunny feet.
You can get the craft paint, basket fillers and candy from your local Walmart.
I used the following Mars Easter Candy to fill my basket.
- DOVE® Milk Chocolate Bunny
- SNICKERS® Bunny Cane
- DOVE® Peanut Butter Egg
- Skittles® Bunny Cane
DOVE® Peanut Butter Egg is a new product available at Walmart, and they are sooo yummy!
- 2 Liter pop bottle
- Hole punch
- Pipe cleaners
- Pom pom for the tail
- Mars Candy from Walmart
Clean out your bottle and remove the label.
Trace the outline of the bunny on the plastic and cut it out.
Take the bottle outside and spray paint the whole thing with white all-purpose spray paint.
Once completely dry, paint the ears and nose.
Once all your paint is dry, trace the pink parts with black marker to make the eyes, nose, ears and whiskers.
Punch a hole in each side and use braided pipe cleaners to make a handle.
Hot glue a pom-pom onto the back to make the tail.
Fill with plastic “grass” and your favorite Easter candy.
