Halloween Makeup Tutorials
Good morning Gnomies!
Today I have a special guest here to show you some wickedly cool Halloween makeup tutorials. My friend Adrienne Jenkins is a professional make-up artist from Victoria B.C. (yes I have a friend who is also named Adrienne and also is a makeup artist) Adrienne and I used to be neighbors and best friends when we were in elementary school.
Her family moved away but we kept in touch and both ended up attending the Blanche MacDonald Institute in Vancouver B.C. Adrienne still does make up for weddings and special occasions but today I wanted show you her talent for creating seriously spooky characters.

But don’t worry, you don’t have to be a professional makeup artist to pull off these looks. Adrienne is going to show us how to achieve two different looks today using the same products. Read on to find out how to recreate Reptillia and Pretty Dead Girl. Take it away Adrienne!
I created these looks using the exact same products for each one.
- Black base
- White base
- Black Liquid Liner
- Red eyeshadow
- Black eyeshadow
- Black mascara
- Foundation
- Fish Nets
Reptillia
- Start with a clean face.
- Use your regular foundation.
- Cut a section out of some fishnet stockings and pull it over your head.
- Using a sponge, and some black base (crème makeup) create the reptilian pattern. Tap the sponge into the black base, tap it along your hairline, bring it down the nose, the sides of the temples, and down along the cheekbones. Do the same creating a line coming up from the chin, and just to the lower lip line.
- Apply red or pink eyeshadow or blush along the cheekbones, and on the forehead to give the pattern some colour.
- Using the same red or pink colour place it in the crease of the eyes, blending up towards the brow, also place the red or pink colour on the lower lash-line.
- With a black liquid felt tipped liner draw up-turned lines on either side of the mouth. Outline the lips in black, but fill in the top lip.
- Draw two upward lines extending up from the peaks of the lips. Do the same on the nose, extending up from the nostrils to create the snake nose.
- With the black liquid liner create the upturned brows, line the eyes, and apply mascara.
- Finish by putting some black eyeshadow on the out-corners, and set face with a translucent powder.
Pretty Dead (Ghost girl)
- Start with a clean face.
- Completely cover the face with a white base, with a sponge.
- Set with a white translucent powder.
- With a black eyeshadow, begin to contour the face with a contour brush.
- Contour underneath the cheekbones, the sides of the nose, and around the hairline and temples.
- Blend!
- Outline the lips with an angled brush. Emphasize lining the bottom lip. Well exaggerated beyond the natural lip line.
- Run your pinky finger over your lip-line so that it isn’t too defined.
- With the same black eye shadow that you used to contour, and your angled brush, create the sad eyebrows, which turn up slightly to create the expression.
- Using the black eyeshadow, completely cover the eyelid, blending upward towards the brow. With a smudge brush do the same on the lower lash line.
- Complete with black eyeliner and mascara.
