Beauty Tip Tuesday: Remove your Makeup with Coconut Oil

It seems that everyone on the internet and in blogland is going absolutely crazy over coconut oil lately- and for good reason, you can use it for so many different things! From cooking to moisturizing your skin and everything in between, it seems like there isn't anything coconut oil can't be used for. I found a new use for coconut oil and I must say I am obsessed: make up removal. Did you miss my post from many moons ago all about the Oil Cleansing Method? Go check it out now if you missed it. Don't worry, I'll wait for you... Okay now  you're are all caught up!  Using coconut oil for makeup removal is pretty much the same concept as OCM, only you are just using the one ingredient.
I take a small teaspoon of coconut oil into the bathroom with me and slather it all over my face. I rub it into my skin using circular motions and gently rub my eye make up off. Then I take a facecloth with hot steamy water and place it over my skin. I press the cloth into my skin and then wipe off the oil. I do this several times until my skin doesn't feel greasy anymore. Then I swipe a little toner over my skin and continue on with nightly routine. Don't bother with expensive chemical filled make up removers anymore. Just use coconut oil!

Coconut oil is a solid at room temperature but it will liquify with the heat of your skin
What are some of your favorite ways to use coconut oil?

  3. One favorite way to use Coconut oil is to massage it into my husband's scalp, mixed with a few drops of tea tree oil, and treat his dandruff. I never knew that I can remove makeup and I am definitely trying that!
