Tulip Festival

Last weekend we went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. The festival runs every April and is about 45 minutes south of where we live in Washington State. The festival features tours of different tulip and spring flower fields all over part of Skagit County. There are literally miles and miles of flowers for as far as the eye can see. My family used to go for day trips out to the festival when I was a kid and I love going back now to check it out. For anyone who loves flowers, it feels like heaven!

There were daffodils as far as the eye could see. It reminded me of a particular scene from the movie Big Fish. If you've seen the movie you'll remember when the female main character wakes up one morning to find her whole front yard had sprouted daffodils.

Lounging about the tulips

There were still about 50% of the tulips that had yet to bloom. If we had gone next weekend or the week after there would have been even more flowers. The gardens were so beautiful. If you ever get a chance to visit the Tulip Festival in Skagit County you should definitely make a point to check it out!

  2. What a beautiful outing. I wish I lived closer or that we had events like that close to home. I've really enjoyed watching all the fruit trees burst into bloom.
    Thanks for sharing!!
