Homemade Dog Biscuits

My dogs are very motivated by food. They will do anything for treats which means they can do some pretty sweet tricks.  It also means we go through a whole lot of dog cookies. Making your own dog treats is not only fun but it's nice to know exactly what ingredients are going in (or not going in) your puppy's tummy.

Here's a great recipe for dog biscuits I came up with.

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1cup peanut butter
1 apple  chopped into small pieces
1 egg - beaten
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water (add more if needed)
1/4 applesauce

Combine ingredients and roll dough out with a rolling pin. Use cookie cutters ( I got myself some cute dog bone shaped ones) and cut out biscuit shapes. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. A little longer if you have bigger shaped cookies.
Let them cool off and your dogs will be begging you  for them!

Eyes on the prize!

Those sad puppy dog eyes begging for another!
