Work in progress: Magic Marker Forest
I was totally inspired this weekend because of this blog post I found through Apartment Therapy. Katie of Katie's Pencil Box and her husband drew the most beautiful forest on the walls of their hallway with permanent marker. I had been trying to decide what to do with this hallway, what color paint and which artwork I should use but once I saw Katie's amazing trees I knew I had to try it myself. 2.5 days of coloring and 5 sharpie markers in I am almost done. I have about 5 feet of wall space left to do, then touch ups. I want to paint the doors white and frame them properly with molding and get some new door knobs and a funky chandelier.
Here's some more pics of my work in progress:
How do you think it's coming along? Any advice on what chandelier and accessories I should buy? Let me know what you think! I need your input!

ReplyDeleteHoly crap! That is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWow!! I love it!!! I wonder if my landlord would let me do this?!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! That's AMAZING!!! Superb job!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just me, but I think a fancy chandelier in a bright contrasting color (like teal or aqua, or something, not sure what the rest of your decor is like) would be a cool contrast to the stark white, black and woodsy feel you have with the mural. :)
PS - Found you through Etsy blogging team
@ Regina, I think a bright colored chandelier would look good. My kitchen is lime green and the living room is "Alice" blue so maybe bright yellow would look good.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap on a cracker, that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful forest! You must be a very patient person, and a perfectionist as well. I can only imagine how awesome it will look after you paint the doors white. Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is AMAZING! I can't wait to see it completed!!! :)
